When should I book a portrait session?
I recommend advance booking as portrait session availability is limited and my calendar fills up quickly. The sooner the better! It is best to inquire about scheduling a newborn or maternity session in the beginning of your second trimester. Child or family portraits should be scheduled 6-8 weeks prior to the desire session date. I do offer last minute booking in some cases, so please do not hesitate to contact me with the date inquiries.
How do I pay for a session?
Please refer to the investment page for information on session pricing. A non-refundable retainer is required to reserve a date on my calendar. I currently accept cash, check, and PayPal. Payment is expected at the time of service. Payment plans are available upon request.
Do you provide a print release?
Yes! All sessions include a print release for the high-resolution digital images. Clients are able to print as many copies as they want, wherever they want!
What print products do you offer?
Lauren Melissari Photography offers traditional tabletop and wall prints, canvases, albums, and custom birth announcements.
What kind of portrait sessions do you book?
I am currently only booking portrait sessions for maternity, newborns, and families.
Do you offer mini sessions?
I offer an exclusive number of seasonal session specials throughout the year that are always announced on LMP’s Facebook page and Blog. The spaces available are limited and sometimes book within hours. Keep an eye out!
What time of the day is best for a session?
The best lighting occurs in the early morning or early evening. Direct sunlight creates harsh lighting environments that overexpose images and cause squinting of the eyes. Ideally an hour before sunset is prime lighting.
Where do you photograph sessions?
There are many different beautiful locations throughout Bryan and College Station. Clients can choose an outdoor location to use for their session. Some of these locations include; George Bush Library, Downtown Bryan, Avalon, Royal Pecan Farms, Research Park, Lick Creek Park, and Texas A&M campus. My favorite location is Avalon, a private venue in south College Station. Locations outside of Bryan and College Station may be chosen but a travel fee may apply. Newborn sessions are almost always done indoors at my commercial studio.
Will you come to our house for the session?
Unfortunately I do not currently offer travel to client’s homes for portrait sessions.
Do you offer gift certificates?
Yes! A gift certificate to LMP is the perfect gift! Certificates can be purchased in any amount and expire in 12 months from date of purchase.
How long does it take to receive my images?
Typically clients receive their session images 4-6 weeks post session date. The editing and retouching stage of image processing is time consuming and requires attention to detail. Sessions are edited in order as they are taken. Holiday seasons may lengthen turn around times. Please let me know if you need images by a certain date at the time of booking.
Are you insured?
Yes. I am a member of the Professional Photographers of America and am insured.
Do you archive images?
As soon as you receive your digital images, BACK THEM UP! I am a firm believer that you cannot have too many copies of digital files for safekeeping. All images are archived for 12 months. Recovery of images past 12 months will be subject to an additional fee.
